I had the amazing fortune to be the photographer that Rob & Ayesha chose for their beautiful wedding in Oamaru. I hadn’t been to Oamaru since a campervan holiday when I was a child (we camped overnight near the Little Blue Penguin colony – cute but SO noisy!!). I’ve driven through it plenty of times on my way south, but for some strange reason hadn’t stopped and had a look around. Well, next time I’ll be scheduling a stop for sure, because Oamaru is fantastic!
The church that Rob & Ayesha chose for their ceremony was fabulous, Oamaru stone (of course) with gorgeous natural light from loads of stained glass windows. After the ceremony we went to the Victorian Quarter (Steampunk capital of NZ, donchaknow!) where they had organised some penny farthings to have some photographs with (fabulous!) outside the Whiskey Art Gallery on Harbour St. Then on to the Oamaru public gardens where there are almost too many pretty spots for taking photographs. All in all an outstanding choice of location for wedding photographs.
It was an awesome day, and so rewarding: I think the photographs capture not only Rob & Ayesha’s love for each other, but also my newfound love of Oamaru!
