Karyn & Phil’s ceremony was held at The Elms Hotel in Papanui. Their vows and readings reflected their love of movies, a theme which was carried through to their table settings for the reception.
Like any good movie there was a great storyline, tears, laughter, and in the end the guy got his girl.
Karyn & Phil had decided that they wanted some edgy urban photos, as well as some more traditional bridal shots in a garden setting so a month before their big day we drove around central Christchurch to scope out some good graffiti and some of the more picturesque earthquake remains of bricks & rubble, shipping containers and traffic cones.
After the city photos, we took a walk through the botanic gardens in Hagley Park to the memorial seat for Karyn’s dad, who had sadly passed away a few months before the wedding. We stopped as photo opportunities presented themselves, and then had time for Karyn & Phil to spend in remembrance of her dad before heading back to The Elms for the reception.
