Lynne & Tom’s wedding was held in his parent’s spectacular rose garden in Tai Tapu, and it was the perfect setting for a touching and sweet ceremony surrounded by their friends, family, and their gorgeous wee boy. We had a few photographs on site in the gardens, and then had time to stop off at a few spots around Tai Tapu on the way to the reception.
Rebecca & Glen’s wedding day was anything but ordinary! Rebecca got ready with her bridesmaids and family at the Lincoln Motel, and she was dressed and ready to go with such efficiency that we had time to mosey across the road for a drink at The Laboratory – an amazing pub, with a really interesting building that was lovingly put together using as many recycled materials from earthquake-damaged buildings in Christchurch as possible, the result is a building that oozes character, and the interior is just a treasure trove of awesome. I had been hoping to meet up with Glen & the groomsmen at the other pub in Lincoln, the Famous Grouse, for some pre-wedding photography, but by the time I was finished with the girls the boys had finished their beers and were on their way to St Stephens Church for the ceremony. After the ceremony we made our way to Cossars for the reception, stopping at the stone archway to the rugby grounds for some photographs on our way. Despite the overcast, sometimes drizzly weather, the vineyard and surrounds at Cossars looked amazing (as always!), lush and vibrantly green.

Annabel & Kent first met at a Waipara vineyard event, so for their special day a vineyard venue was the perfect choice. They brought their family & friends together to celebrate their marriage at The Vineyard at Rossendale, at Tai Tapu near Christchurch. It’s a gorgeous venue set in amongst beautiful leafy gardens and of course surrounded by grapevines.
Annabel travelled to The Vineyard in style, taking a classic London Black Cab which was a nod to her parent’s wedding day – her father showed me the photograph of her mother as a young bride in the back of the cab that she took to their wedding, which was lovely because I could then recreate a similar photograph of Annabel in her cab.
The ceremony was held in the shade of an enormous beech tree, and there were plenty of spots for creative shots of the bridal party around the venue – amongst the vines, under pine trees and with old farm machinery. Things moved indoors for the reception, with guests popping outdoors to leave video messages for the bride & groom with videographer Geoff Gilfedder.

Katie & the bridesmaids started off the day at The Gatehouse at Greystones, the pre-wedding bridal party shots were taken there as well, including a “first look” moment, the first time David saw his beautiful bride all dressed up.
David & the groomsmen arrived at the ceremony in a fabulous old Bedford truck that he and his family had restored especially for the wedding. Katie & the bridesmaids arrived at the ceremony in a fabulous (and loud!) blue Chevrolet.
The ceremony & reception were held at Cossars Wineshed in Tai Tapu. Katie had done an amazing job of creating a gorgeous aisle with posts and potted succulents, and white & purple lanterns hanging from the trees. She tells me that most of her ideas came from pinterest and it sounds like she had heaps of fun crafting everything herself including making a cake stand out of a heart shaped section of a tree!

A selection of images from Kelly & Matt’s wedding earlier this month, held at Cossars Wineshed in Tai Tapu.
Kelly & Matt had a rustic-French theme for their day, so I went for a classic, elegant and romantic feel to their wedding photography by using a mix of subtly toned colour and split-toned black & white processing on the images. With the discovery of a lovely hay paddock at the back of the venue with a haystack handily positioned for optimal romantic lighting (and of course Kelly & Matt being so in love that they hardly needed me to encourage canoodling!) I was really confident that these shots were going to be stunning, but I’m even more pleased with them than I thought I’d be! Continue reading
Jacasta & Chris were married at Cossars Wineshed in Tai Tapu, on a gorgeous sunny October day. There was incredibly gusty wind in town, but because Cossars is nestled near the base of the hills it was lovely & calm – quite the little sun trap! Jacasta’s bridesmaid Hannah did the girls’ hair in beautiful sideswept tousled curls.
Getting ready photos were shot at The George Hotel, Christchurch, and ceremony, after & reception photos were all shot onsite at Cossars Wineshed.
